Effects of Liuwei Dihuang Decoction and Its Kinds on Activities of Blood Enzymes Related to Aging in Mice

Abstract:

Effects of Liuwei Dihuang decoction(LDD)and LDD-like prescriptions such as Qiju Dihuang decoction,Maiwei Dihuang decoction,Qiwei Duqi decoction and Zhibai Dihuang decoction on the activities of Superoxide Dismutase(SOD),Catalase(CAT),Glutathione Peroxidase(GSH-Px)and Lipid Peroxide(LPO)in the blood were studied in young mice.The results indicated that LDD and Qiju Dihuang decoction can evidently increase the activities of SOD and GSH-Px and apparently reduce LPO in the blood of young mice.Maiwei Dihuang decoction and Qiwei Duqi decoction can increase the activity of GSH-Px and reduce LPO.
