Effect of Yufeng Tang on Preventing Delayed Neuronal Death Worsened by Excitatory Amino Acids

    Abstract:

    To observe the effect of Yufeng Tang(YFT) on preventing delayed neuronal death (DND) worsened by EAA, we used cerebral isocheimal reperfusion model, explored effects of YFT on SOD activity, MDA levels in serum and hippocampus of rats following 6,24,168h after reperfusion was researched. Reperfusion 168h later, cerebral ischemia was observed with light microscope and electron microscope. Result showed YFT enhanced SOD activity, reduced MDA levels in serum and hippocampus, prevented and treated DND in some degree.
