Determination of Safrolglycol in Cinnamomum camphora by HPLC

Abstract:

Objective:To establish a method for the determination of safrolglycol in Cinnamomum camphora. Method: Using HPLC with Hypersil ODS column, CH₃CN-H₂O (14∶86) as mobile phase and detection wavelength at 282 nm. Result: The linearity of the calibration curve was evaluated over the amount range of 1.014-5.07 μg for safrolglycol, and good linearity with correlation coefficient (r) of 0.999 9 was obtained. The recovery and RSD were 99.0% and 1.89% (n=6) respectively. Conclusion: This method is rapid, simple and accurate, thus may be used for the quality control of C. camphora.
