Abstract:Objective: To extract,separate and identify the water-soluble chemical constituent from Radix Isatidis. Method: The Radix Isatidis water extract underwent adsorption by HP-20 macroporous resin, the portion eluted by ethanol of different content was isolated and purified on silica gel column repeatedly. The structures of the compounds were identified by spectra data. Result: 6 compounds temporarily separated from Radix Isatidis water extract,were identified as: (+)-isolariciresinol(1) ,lariciresinol-4-bis-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(2 ),lariciresinol-4, 4'-bis-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(3 ),epigoitrin(4 ),indole-3-acetonitrile-6-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(5 ), 4-hydroxyindole-3-carboxaldehyde(6 ). Conclusion : For the first time, Compound 6 was isolated from Radix Isatidis.
