Objective: To observe the therapeutic effects of compound Sanguisorba officinalis tincture on burns. Method : The compound tincture, a hospital preparation, was prepared according to Jiangxi hospital preparation Norms. Four-hundred ninety-six patients suffered from burn were divided into treatment group and control group randomLy, and each wound was debrided and exposed. The treatment group was treated with compound S. officinalis tincture, while the control group was cured with SNO (silver nitrate ointment) combined with antibiotics. Result : The effective rate of treatment group and control group was 100% and 94.6% respectively, and the average cure time was 12.7 d and 31.3 d respectively. There was significant difference between the two groups ( P <0.01). Conclusion: Compound S. officinalis tincture is effective for the treatment of I and II burns in short treatment duration and with less adverse reactions, and it is reasonable priced.
