Objective: To study the chemical constituents from the bud of Trachycarpus fortunei. Method: The constituents were isolated and purified by using macroporous resin column chromatography, silica gel column chromatography and Sephadex LH-20 chromatography, their structures were identified by physicochemical properties and spectrum analysis. Result: Eight compounds were separated and six of them were isolated and identified as isovanillic acid (Ⅰ), β-sitosterol (Ⅱ), dioscin (Ⅲ), 5-O-caffeoylshikimic acid (Ⅳ), caffeic acid (Ⅴ), rutin (Ⅵ). Conclusion: Compounds Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅳ, Ⅴ and Ⅵ are firstly obtained from T. fortune, compounds Ⅰ and Ⅳ are firstly obtained from the plant ofTrachycarpus.
