Abstract:Objective:To analyze the chemical components of the essential oil from different parts of the Ilex hainanensis and provide scientific basis for its quality control. Method: The volatile oil from the leaves, stem of I. hainanensis was obtained by steam distillation and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The relative content was determined by area normalization. Result: Twenty-four components were identified from the stem, in which accounting for 94.97% of total volatile oil. 33 components were identified from the leaves, in which accounting for 98.48% of total volatile oil. Stems and leaves contain volatile oil composition of compounds:furfural, (2E,4E)-hexadiene, (6Z)-2,6-dimethyl-2,6-octadiene,hexylacetate,dipentene,1-octanol,5-ethenyltetrahydro-.alpha,alpha-5-trimethyl-,cis-2-furanmethanol,terpinolen,inalool,alpha-terpineol,beta-cyclocitral,(Z)-geraniol,geraniol, cyclohexyl n-hexanoate,irisone. Conclusion: The results can be used as the quality standard and provide scientific basis for further development and utilization of I. hainanensis.
