Abstract:Objective:To study the expectorant, analgesic and antibacterial effects of Yanshuning granules. Method: Mice were divided into 6 groups randomly: normal control group, positive groups, high dose group, middle dose group and low dose group of Yanshuning granules (11.00,5.50,2.75 g·kg-1), after 7 d by ig administration, the expectorant effect was studied by a mouse model of phenol red test. The analgesic effect was studied by mouse models of hot-plate induced pain and acetic acid-induced writhing reaction.Experimental research on antibacterial action in vitro of Yanshuning granules was applied to observe the antibacterial effect. Result: The experimental results showed that Yanshuning granules could significantly increase phenol red excretion in mice (P<0.05 or P<0.01). It could significantly prolong the latent time of reaction on hot-plate in mice(P<0.05), reduce the writhing times in mice(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The granules showed obvious antibacterial actions against Staphylococcus aureus[minimal inhibitory loncentration(MIC) is 0.250 g·mL-1, minimal bactericidal concentration(MBC) is 0.500 g·mL-1], A-hemolytic streptococcus(MIC is 0.062 g·mL-1,MBC is 0.250 g·mL-1),Beta hemolytic streptococcus(MIC is 0.031 g·mL-1,MBC is 0.062 g·mL-1),Proteus(MIC is 0.125 g·mL-1,MBC is 0.250 g·mL-1) and Streptococcus pneumoniae(MIC is 0.125 g·mL-1,MBC is 0.500 g·mL-1). Conclusion: The granules has obvious expectorant, analgesic and antibacterial effects.
