Objective: To study the HPLC fingerprint of leaf of Picria fel-tarrae in different growth periods. Method: High performance of liquid chromatography (HPLC) was adopted, the separation was performed on C18 (4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) column with acetonitrile-0.1% aqueous acetic acid solution as mobile phase using a gradient elution; the detection wavelength was set at 264 nm, the column temperature was set at 25℃ and the flow rate was 1 mL·min-1; the data calculation was performed with similarity evaluation system for chromatographic fingerprint of TCM (Version 2004A). Result: In the fingerprint,17 common peaks were confirmed and the similarity of 10 batches of leaf of Picria fel-tarrae. were above 0.9. Conclusion: The experiment result could provide experimental data for the quality control method of the leaf of Picria fel-tarrae. and for optimum collection time and actualizing standard planting of Picria fel-tarrae.
