Objective: To establish a method for the content determination of perillaldehyde in Suhuang Zhike Capsule. Method: HPLC was performed on SHIMADZU Shim-pack VP-ODS C18 column (4.6 mm × 250 mm, 5 μm), and the mobile phase was consisted of methanol-water (68:32). The detection wavelength was set at 230 nm, the flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1 and the column temperature was 30 ℃. Result: Perillaldehyde showed a good linear relationship from 5.672 ng to 453.76 ng, and the regression equation was Y=5.695X+1.28 (r=0.999 5). The average recovery was 99.57 % with RSD of 1.68 %. Conclusion: The HPLC method is simply and accurate with a good specificity. It can be used to determine the content of perillaldehyde in the Suhuang Zhike Capsule.
