Abstract:Using tanshinone Ⅱ_A and the dry extract as evaluation indexes,the extracting procedures with ethanol and water,and the proportion of the vehicle in the preparation of Rukuaixiao Granules were selected by an orthogonal design method.Therefore,a preparing procedure of the granules was established.

Abstract:A TLC method was developed qualitatively to identify Rhizoma Chuanxiong and Fructus Crataegi in Xuezhiping capsules.The content of Radix et Rhizoma Rhei in the capsules was quantitatively determined with a TLC-scanning method.This method is simple,sensitive,and used for the quality control of the capsule.

Abstract:The timosaponin in an anti-virus oral liquid was absorbed by great occipital resin to get rid of the disturbance of impurities like sugar,then eluted with 75% alcohol and hydrolyzed by acid to produce sapogenin,whose content was determined with a TCLS-method was sensitive with high specificity and good linear relationship,and the rate of recovery was 97.2%,RSD3.28%.

Abstract:Improving effect of Xingyuan granule on myocardial contractility and cardiac output was investigated in the animals with myocardial ischemia caused by ligating coronary artery.In addition,Xinyuan granule was found to decrease the myocardial ischemia size and inhibit the increase of serum CK.

Abstract:The active fraction A (Fr. A) isolated from Guizhi decoction, which was orally administered, might cut down the rise of body temperature induced by yeast. The Fr.A also went up the hypothermy induced by aminopyrine intravenously. It lowered the content of PGE₂ in febrile rats and raised the content in hypothemic rats in hypothalamus. The results indicate that Fr.A may regulate body temperature in dual-direction by means of promoting or inhibiting the metabolism of PGE₂, a febrile medium in centre.

Abstract:Antiviral effect of the serum from the rabbits dosed with GZD(Guizhi decoction) was observed in vitro. The result showed that the first, second or third hour's serum of the rabbits treated with GZD once a day had no antiviral effect, while the second hour's serum of the rabbits with GZD once a day for three days had significantly antiviral effect.

Abstract:The serum was collected from rats fed on Fuzheng Huayu (FZHY) decoction, and FZHY decoction was lyophilized into powder. And both were incubated with hepatic stellate cells (HSC) and hepatocytes. Then cell morphology and functions were observed to study the seropharmacological methods for antifibrotic traditional Chinese herbs. The results showed that the FZHY powder inhibited cell proliferation and viability. The deactivated rat's sera drawn 1h after FZHY-treatment twice had no cytotoxity, promoted hepatocyte proliferation, and inhibited HSC proliferation. Therefore, this seropharmacological method could be applied for antifibrotic herbal formulae.

Abstract:The effect of Yishen Daozhuo oral liquid on renal function and enzyme histochemistry of adenine induced chronic renal failure in rats was observed. Results showed that the contents of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and creatinine (Cr) in serum were obviously lowered and the activities of SDH, ALP and ATPase in renal tissues were significantly increased in rats following exposure to the liquid. The biological activities of the liquid were found to be higher than that of Verapamil.

Abstract:Buqihuoxue formula (a decoction for reinforcing middle warmer and activating blood circulation) can extend the cough incubation period of mice,reduce their cough freguency,increase the amount of phenolred secreted by their trachea,inhibit the swelling of their auricle,raise phagocytic activity and index of monophocyte,promote the production of hemolysin antibody and increase the spleen weight,which has a better effect than Buqi formula (a decoction for reinforcing middle warmer) and Huoxue formula (a decoction for activating blood circulation).

Abstract:Effect of Fr.A,active fractive A isolated from Guizhi decoction, on inositol 1,4,5 triphosphate (IP₃) and calmodulin (CaM) in hypothalamus in yeast-inducted febrile rats and aminopyrine-induced hypothermal rats was studied. The results showed that IP₃ and CaM contents were significantly decreased in febrile rats,and markedly increased in hypothermal rats. Theose values were reversed to almost normal level in both models after administration of Fr.A. The results suggest that IP₃ and CaM in the thermoregulatory center take part in the dual-directional regulation of Fr.A.

Abstract:The liver-protective effect of a Chinese medical prescription,Chaikou granule was observed in rats with alcoholic liver injury.The result showed that Chaikou granule could obviously enhance activities of SOD,CATand GSH-PX in the liver or in the blood,and reduce the MDA and free radicals in the plasma and liver,indicating the increase of anti-oxidation potency in tissue.

Abstract:Inhibiting and scavenging effect of Zhenzhu pill 2 on O^·₂ and ^·OH were found to be more potent than those of Zhenzhu pill1.Both of them were observed to inhibit the MDA production and protect oxidized hemoglobin action.

Abstract:The total effective rate of a supplemented Huangqi Shengmai powder for treatment of viral myocarditis proved be 93.10%,while that of the conventional Western therapy was 72.73%，indicating the former was more potent than the latter.
